On my birthday, of all days!

Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland finally (I've been waiting since July of freaking 2008) comes out on March 5th, which happens to be my 27th birthday (my shoe size is 7)! French department store Printemps put together a window display to celebrate, commissioning a varied handful of designers to participate: Nicholas Kirkwood, Ann Demeulemeester, Alexander McQueen, Bernhard Willhelm, Charles Anastase, Christopher Kane, ChloƩ, Haider Ackermann, Manish Arora, and Maison Martin Margiela. Style.com got the preview; these two were my favorites..

Charles Anastase. How much better would the Disney film have been, had Alice been wearing this instead of the light blue tea dress? And maybe those Rodarte/Nick Kirkwood bolt heels from S/S 2010? Am I getting carried away?

Ann Demeulemeester. I don't love the vest (though it's very Ann), but that silhouette print at the bottom? I die!!

Can't wait!!

Thank you, Tommy Ton.

I'm experiencing technical difficulties (busted laptop screen) and dental issues, and I have TOO MUCH TO DO to deal with that combination. But I AM trying to catch up on Mens' Fashion Week and Couture Week, and prepping for a new creative endeavor (Hi Damon!). I cannot get enough Jak&Jil, and I cannot wait to pull my [faux] furs out of the closet in my old bedroom at mom's house to wear with a white Hanes t-shirt and sloppy jeans. Thank you, Kanye, for the outfit idea, and thank you Tommy Ton, for constantly, incessantly taking pictures that fuel my love of all things fashion.

Ps. This was Karl Lagerfeld's FIFTY-FOURTH couture collection for Chanel?! How old IS the Kaiser??

Gratitude.

I'm glad Chris Bailey's pushing 'jeans-tucked-into-boots' for the boyfolks, too. That man's a visionary, I tell ya. Visionary. My hero.

Postapocalyptic.

Just came home from "Book of Eli". Aside from being a graphically beautiful and emotionally-arresting movie, I'm finally understanding why designers keep referencing post-apocalyptic films..there's a list of shit I need to see now, which until now I've had no interest in. Mila Kunis has maybe two outfit changes in the movie, but my head is swimming with new-fashion-crush..

There are no words.

Sweet mother of god, Iosselliani. My mouth is hanging open. I can't even photo cred, I've just looked at something like 12 websites trying to find this available for purchase.
