Plaid flannel.
Lately, strangely, I've been craving a plaid flannel cape. Capes, in general, have seemed enticing to me..must be the change in seasons. I've yet to wear my black fleece AA cape, but I'm working up the courage. I'd like to find a plaid sheet or something at a thrift store and fashion it into a cape. My sewing machine lies dormant in the corner of my tiny, tiny apartment, but we're warming to each other..

A confession.
I was perplexed by those infamous Balenciaga harness boots upon their unveiling back in 2006. I thought they were hideous, but Mary-Kate rocked the shit out of them, and I thought..'maybe they ARE cool'. Then the Sam Edelmans were available from Victoria's Secret. I considered purchasing, but thought they'd never get the wear they deserved, I wouldn't wear them nearly enough to justify buying. Then they weren't available, and I kicked myself repeatedly (you always want what you can't have?). Buzz on the blogosphere this season was that the Sam Edelman 'Zoe' boots were put back into production and would be available from select sites. I waited, checked sites, waited, waited. Found. Urban Outfitters. And just in time, because when Geri posted this picture, I almost died. I might be getting the boots for Christmas... :)

Just to let you know.
I've already posted this on facebook, having stolen it from my best friend's facebook, but no mag piece has ever made me happier (that's probably incorrect, but still). I started knitting these last winter. I died when Chris Bailey sent them down the Burberry runway. I love that they're catching on, but I really hate the term "infinity scarf"...reminds me of the one MK Olsen picked up at Intuition or somewhere tacky in LA all those years ago when she paraded around NYU looking homeless. I'm not knocking that. It was one of my favorites of her fashion phases. However, that one isolated scarf bears no relation to the snood/cowl I am currently infatuated by.

Artistic inspiration.
I will totally be attempting white skinnies/brown Fryes.
I think part of the reason I love Freja so much is because I feel like you could photoshop her head out, swap it for Alison Mosshart's, in any candid pic of her, and it would work. That's NOT a bad thing.
Once I'm done knitting projects for the ones I love, I WILL be making myself this hat.
