No.

I'm not jumping on the bandwagon for this one. Nope. Sorry. Everyone's making a fuss about this ugly Celine bag. Don't they sell bags just like this at JC Penney? Or have all the big editors just avoided JC Penney for so long that they don't realize they're being hoodwinked? This stupid too-small satchel is on like twelve pages in the new issue of American Bazaar (that's what I get for reading American Bazaar, no?) and it just baffles me. I'm all for Phoebe Philo being installed at Celine, and I think she's done some beautiful work there already, but I just can't get behind this bag.

Ridiculous.

There are two things you do not know about me.
1. You do not know how much I love a grey t-shirt. My AA tri-blend is on the verge of holes, it's so loveworn.
2. I would absolutely drop $105 on a Rodarte t-shirt. (I've been known to go running in my grey Marc Jacobs.)

Ps. I would definitely, definitely buy an $18 Rodarte notebook.

Seeking: Rodarte straitjacket..

I've been researching the Mulleavy sisters for many nights, mentally piecing together an article and designer profile with regards to the Quicktake: Rodarte exhibit at the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in New York City (which I went to see on my birthday! gift to myself! woot woot!). This interview with Laura Mulleavy, conducted by Vogue's Sally Singer, has been haunting me all day. I watched half of it last night, overdosed on genius, thought about it all day, and just finished watching the other half. I highly recommend, if you have any interest in and respect for Rodarte, that you set aside an hour and seventeen minutes and savor the entire thing. Big ups to Cooper-Hewitt for knowing there was a very specific audience for this interview. So many prayers and questions have been satiated.

This is a quicker summation of the exhibit..lots of close-ups of the materials the girls use in their dresses. GENIUS. Watch.
